I know everyone hates them around here, so do I, but maybe it’s just what Cadillac needs so they can continue building V cars and manual ATSes.

I would say same size as the XT5, so squarely at the GLE Coupe and X6.

So maybe XT6.

agree - I don’t like most of these “SUV Coupe” thingies, (Acura ZDX is the exception) but that’s not half bad. Give the masses what they want I say!

GM has trademarked XT2 through XT8, though that doesn’t guarantee they’ll all be used.

XT4 is on the way next year. Hopefully it incorporates the Escala styling.

Either way, they didn’t steal it from Honda. Escala was August 2016, Clarity was April 2017, almost a full year before it.

Magazines were doing first drives of the Clarity FCV back in November of 2015. Like most cars that look similar they probably came about totally independently. I made the comment mainly because I just saw a wild Clarity and it was a total WTF moment. Not too many cars on sale today I totally forget exist because I see them rarely.

It would ride on the excellent ats/CT’s chassis and slap a ttv6 in it with a V version with the lt7(?) twin turbo Dohc v8 and it would make my pants tight. Quick hatchback that you could lower back to normal height.

WOW. If they were Volvo they could bring something 95% that into production. But they are Cadillac, so no. That exact body with a slightly improved ttv6 and a 6 speed would be my dream sedan.

I think they wanted to establish a reputation that would be more accepted internationally with a well rounded lineup rather than just becoming an SUV brand.
